This pen drawing is the second of three works that combine to illustrate the activities, in this part climbing, along the Peak District gritstone crag Stanage Edge. Also shown is a black faced ram, a sheep popular in the area.
Stanage is famous for many things including its length at nearly four miles and the quality of its rock climbing.
The highly coloured view of the landscape and the naive style are representative of the artists’ optimistic outlook and his love for this area of the world.
